One team for the trench and the wiring

Underground electrical work usually means booking an excavator operator, then an electrician, then the excavator again to backfill. Every handover adds time and cost, and leaves you with an open trench in the yard.

Because we have our own mini excavator, we can locate services, dig, lay conduit, pull cable, connect and backfill as one continuous job. The machine is small enough to fit through most side gates and into tight backyards.

This is especially useful on the larger blocks around Miners Rest, Smythes Creek, Invermay and Buninyong, where sheds and outbuildings are often a long way from the house.

How the job runs

  1. 1
    Site visit

We look at the route, access and ground conditions, then quote the full job.

  2. 2
    Locate services

Existing underground services are located before we dig, using Before You Dig Australia plans.

  3. 3
    Dig, lay and wire

We trench, lay conduit and cable, and make the electrical connections.

  4. 4
    Backfill and certify

The trench is backfilled and tidied, and you receive your compliance paperwork.

How we price trenching

Trenching is quoted per job because every site is different. The main factors are the length of the trench, ground conditions (rocky ground is common in parts of Ballarat), access for the machine, how many services need to be crossed, and the size of the cable needed for the load at the other end.

Prices exclude GST and are starting prices for a standard job. Your final price is confirmed in a free, no-obligation quote. Zip finance available.
