Why Ballarat homes are making the switch

Ballarat's long, cold winters mean gas heating bills hit hard. A modern reverse-cycle split system is one of the most efficient ways to heat a room, and the Victorian Government recommends replacing old, inefficient gas heaters with reverse-cycle units.

Victoria is also moving away from gas. All-electric requirements apply to new homes from 1 January 2027, and from 1 March 2027 gas water heaters in existing homes must be replaced with electric alternatives at end of life. If you have solar, going all-electric lets you use more of what your panels generate.

Do it in stages or all at once

You don't have to do everything in one go. Many of our customers start with a split system or heat pump hot water when an old gas appliance fails, then add an induction cooktop later. We'll check your switchboard first and plan the order so you're not paying for the same work twice.

What affects the price

Electrification is quoted per home because it depends on which gas appliances you're replacing, your switchboard and supply capacity, and whether you do it in stages. Split systems start from $1,499 + GST for a 2.5kW unit supplied and installed, and switchboard upgrades start from $980 + GST.

Prices exclude GST. Your final price is confirmed in a free, no-obligation quote. Zip finance available. See our full price list.
